did i ever really leave this fandom
[whisper]
the answer is no
(been reading and drawing a whole bunch of Jak n Daxter stuff lately; me and PhantomTeacup even started up a joint tumblr blog for it here |D CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF THESE GAMES SUDDENLY. For a title whose heyday was in the mid-2000s, they sure do still make an awfully absorbing sandbox.)
(also now on tumblr here)

Haha, I'm in the same boat. I played the games when they came out, and was active in the online fandom back in... what, 2009? 2010? I have no fucking clue what's brought me back in, except that there's a fantastic Tumblr and AO3 community, and the universe of the games feels like coming home, in a weird way. You ebb and flow from the fandom... you never truly leave
One thing I love with this picture is that twinge of strain and resistance in Dark Jak's eyes - he's not a mindless monster, but you can tell there's a part of him trying (and failing) to hold this side of himself back, and it scares him how little control he has it. You did a great job of capturing the fact that, for all the slaughter that Jak's dark eco-fueled self tends to create, it's still Jak in there.
